Stonehenge's astronomical alignments suggest that it may have been a place for sun worship, or an ancient calendar. A nearby ancient settlement, Durrington Walls, shows evidence of more pork consumption during the midwinter, suggesting that perhaps ancient people made pilgrimages to Stonehenge for the winter solstice, Parker Pearson and his colleagues have found.

There was a time when I was fascinated by everything I could read about Stonehenge. Now I just get annoyed with every new theory because there is no way any will ever be confirmed, and there is no benefit to knowing anyway. I love history, and I am a Celt. But come on, folks, spend your time doing something of value to humanity now!
